It’s an excellent time to discover Michigan’s Metroparks. The Huron-Clinton Metroparks consist of 13 different park areas, covering more than 25,000 acres throughout Southeast Michigan. They support recreational and educational opportunities while working to protect our state’s natural resources, enhancing community health and quality of life. Livingston County is lucky enough to be home to both Kensington and Huron Meadows Metroparks. Each park is rich with opportunities for outdoor recreation and exploration! Just take a look at what some of our Instagram fans have found there:

Voted #1 for Best Hiking Trails in Metro Detroit by Channel 7 WXYZ, Kensington Metropark features 4,486 acres of beautiful terrain. Your day at the park could include an adventure at the Splash ‘n’ Blast, a round of golf, boat ride on Kent Lake, cross-country skiing or enjoying a 27-hole disc golf course. In the summer, the whole family will love picnicking after renting a paddleboat or touring the lake aboard the Island Queen II. In the winter, spend your time ice fishing or head out onto the frozen lake to skate. Excitement awaits you at Kensington Metropark, just ask one of the two and a half million visitors they see each year!
Huron Meadows Metropark
Visitors to Huron Meadows Metropark can experience an “up north” environment right in southeast Michigan with this 1,560-acre park. Spend your day golfing on the 18-hole course, fishing off of the pier, or take a nature walk to explore the wildlife living peacefully in the park. Enjoy quiet and serenity as you hike or cross-country ski along the pathways. Stop for a picnic at one of three designated areas, which are available for you to rent for a family or group outing. Every day of the year is an opportunity for an outdoor adventure at Huron Meadows Metropark.
Be one of 7.3 million annual visitors to the Michigan Metroparks, which are accessible to you and your family 365 days a year. Enjoy a natural oasis from the metro Detroit suburbs with year-round activities like fishing, hiking, and biking, as well as seasonal opportunities to take advantage of every season in Pure Michigan. You can buy your 2019 Metroparks pass here and prepare yourself for a year of endless adventure!
