You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to experience Birding For Beginners at Kensington Metropark Nature Center! Whether you’re a seasoned birder or are looking for a new hobby, the staff is here to help. The event begins at the Nature Center with a focus on binocular use and basic bird identification. Then enjoy a short, guided walk on the trails to visit a few birding locations.

What to Expect:
This program starts indoors and ends outside. Most of the 1.5-hour program will be spent walking. Expect to walk about 1 mile. We will conclude at the Nature Center Parking Lot. The planned path is dirt and gravel, frequently rolling or slightly hilly. It includes some bridges and boardwalks and is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. No prior experience is necessary. For maximum enjoyment, some of our program time will require all participants to remain quiet and listen closely and patiently.

Ages: 12 and up. A registered adult must accompany children.
Time: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
