Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience with the Chickadee Meet & Greet! In the area around the Kensington Metropark Nature Center, a variety of winter songbirds will eagerly fly near to greet you. The team at the Nature Center helps you meet them up close, understand why they do this, and provide tips for improving your chances of a close encounter, maybe even a landing on you!

You’ll begin in the nature center, exploring why this activity is possible in the park and how to identify the birds you might see. Then, take a guided walk to meet your new feathered friends. You might also want to bring your camera!

What to Expect:
This program starts indoors and ends outside. Expect to walk about ½ miles on dirt and gravel paths that may be snowy and icy. The walk will be at a leisurely pace with frequent stops and will end back at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center. The path is mostly flat and level. No experience is necessary, and the program involves small group instruction. Dress for the weather – we’ll be heading outside snow, rain, or shine.

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
