Livingston County is home to some top-class golf courses and players of all levels can expect a great experience throughout the whole year. Here is our guide to some of our favorite golf courses in the Brighton-Howell Area!
Hidden Gem
Coyote Preserve Golf Club
Home to an Arnold Palmer Signature Course, Coyote Preserve Golf Club is a hidden gem of the Brighton-Howell Area, with a northern Michigan feel (minus the drive). You’ll be surrounded by nature as you swing over its elevation changes and bunkers. While advanced golfers will find it a great all-around, traditional course, there are also tee boxes for all abilities.
Golfer’s Favorite
The Majestic at Lake Walden
Not only does it boast a 4.7 rating index on Golf Advisor, but many golfers who have played at The Majestic at Lake Walden also say that it’s a superb course – worthy of any golfer’s bucket list. The course has an excellent layout that wraps around Lake Walden that ensures no two holes are in view of each other. It spreads across over 1,400 acres of forests, meadows, and wetlands; and if you visit in Autumn, the fall colors are stunning.
Beginners
Hawk Meadows Golf Course
A perfect course for beginners, Hawk Meadows makes it easy to recover from bad shots. You’ll feel relaxed in its country atmosphere nestled next to farmland, wild vegetation, ponds, and well-planned fairways.
Rush Lake Hills Golf Course
Rush Lake Hills Golf Course also has greens well-suited for those starting out, with a slower pace that allows for any missteps. The front nine has a longer, wide-open feel, while the back nine is shorter with more elevation changes.
Excellent Value
Hunters Ridge Golf Course
If you’re looking for a great bang for your buck, then head to Hunters Ridge Golf Course. Golfers of all levels can enjoy their links-style course that covers 400 acres and is home to 50 bunkers and 10 ponds.
Scenic
Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Course
You’ll find yourself using almost every club on the undulating greens of Huron Meadows Metropark Golf Course. Situated inside Huron Meadows, its compact, oak-hickory forest provides a quiet, peaceful backdrop to each swing.
Kensington Metropark Golf Course
You’ll want to spend a whole day at Kensington Metropark Golf Course as you enjoy its diverse terrain, tree-lined fairways, and plentiful wildlife. The view of Kent Lake on the back nine is especially beautiful!
Visually Challenging
Chemung Hills Golf Course
When you first start at Chemung Hills Golf Course, you’ll find an unusual visual challenge due to the thick forest and narrow fairways, but have no fear– it eventually opens up to their beautifully manicured greens!
Advanced
Dunham Hills Golf Club
Advanced golfers will find a handful of courses where they can test their mettle playing in the Brighton-Howell area. The first, Dunham Hills Golf Club has several tight shots with undulating tree-lined fairways that require accuracy off the tee, with a few dogleg holes.
Moose Ridge Golf Course
Moose Ridge Golf Course has gorgeous grounds with elevation changes, bunkers, and rolling greens. The course is on the difficult side and plays long, so it’s perfect for a day’s outing.
Whispering Pines Golf Club
At Whispering Pines Golf Club, advanced golfers can take on the challenge of tight, tree-lined fairways with plenty of ponds.
Great Place to Practice & Play
Huntmore Golf Club
Along with top conditioning and a great layout, Huntmore Golf Club is a fantastic place to practice all types of golf shots, with their full short game area including a 50-yard fairway shot and practice bunker. Even if you happen to visit on a wintery day, Huntmore Golf Course has an indoor golf simulator that offers food and drinks, making it perfect for parties.
Always Open
Whitmore Lake Golf Links
The course at Whitmore Lake Golf Links is almost always open if the sun is shining – even during the winter! It’s a challenging course, but it doesn’t penalize you harshly for the occasional mistake.
