Island Queen
Kensington Metropark on the east side of the Brighton Howell Area is the home to the unique attraction, the Island Queen. This magnificent 46-passenger pontoon boat tours one of the most scenic lakes in the area. For under an hour, you’ll learn, look, and experience the history, wildlife, and nature scapes of the amazing Kent Lake. The views are panoramic for photo-lovers as the boat cruises around the 1,200-acre lake. While on the ride, the captain cruises among islands and bays and provides historical facts and stories about the history of Kensington Metropark. Wildlife can be seen from start to finish on the ride, from swans to turtles and even the occasional osprey.
The Island Queen is stationed at the Boat Rental area within the park. To ride the Island Queen, you purchase your tickets at the Kisok with the friendly park attendants before boarding. The boat takes one tour every hour from noon to 6:00 pm daily.
