Unleash Your Rage in Whitmore Lake, Michigan

Do you ever feel like you need to rage out? There may be a place for you in the Brighton Howell Area. Destruction Depot – Rage Room is the veteran-owned rage room located in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. This local business provides customers with the opportunity to release their anger in a safe and controlled environment.

Here’s how it worked. We reserved a room in advance since the rooms are available by appointment only. Once we arrived, we signed a waiver and had a tour of their space.

The team led us into an inventory room filled with stuff to smash. Destruction Depot has everything you could ever want to break. Computer monitors, laptops, printers, TVs, visas, dishes, glasses, mugs, appliances, and all sorts of random knickknacks. You can also bring three of your items to the Destruction Depot. We arrived with a defunct flatscreen TV that was sitting in our garage. We also purchased a mystery box filled with coffee mugs, plates, bowls, and lamps. My friend was particularly excited about smashing plates, so we bought a couple of extra dishes as well. We thought that glass was the most satisfying thing to destroy, but it was great to have the flat screen with us because it took a while to demolish.

Next, the Destruction Depot team took us into a room full of protective gear and lockers for personal items. They have jumpsuits, helmets, visors, protective glasses, hearing protection, hairnets, and gloves, of course. I recommend grabbing the hearing protection as soon as possible because the entire facility is quite loud and full of rage! They provide everything you could want to make yourself feel as safe as possible in this super intense experience.

After that, we saw the wall of weapons. They have so many weapons! Baseball bats, crowbars, hammers, tennis rackets. The Destruction Depot team let us pick out two weapons each. My friend went for the baseball bat and hammer. I grabbed a crowbar in the sledgehammer. We both agreed that the crowbar was the ultimate weapon.

Then you get to see your destruction room. It’s essentially a modestly-sized plywood room, a plastic oil bin to smash things on, and a complimentary car door so you have endless opportunities to rage out on an object.

A staff member runs through a couple of safety instructions before letting you “go to town.” They also allowed us to bring our Bluetooth speakers to play our music. We chose Slipknot for our soundtrack. Go big, or go home, right?

My friend and I are both moms to young children. It’s been a super stressful time for everyone, including parents like us. It didn’t take us long to get in the mood of smashing things! We had a lot of fun and thought it was a pretty intense workout.

One of the best things is that you don’t have to clean up the mess! After leaving the destruction room, they offered us free water (and roses for Valentine’s Day)! They collected our protective gear for washing and sanitizing it.

As we were leaving, a larger group of people came in for a party.

The staff was super friendly and well trained. We had an intense and enjoyable experience!

After that, we grab some takeout from Captain Joe’s in Whitmore Lake by Days Inn Hotel, about 7 minutes away from the Destruction Depot. My friend is a vegetarian, and I am not. We both found tons of options for our tastes.
