Wild Wonders Wildlife Park
Wild Wonders Wildlife Park at Howell Nature Center provides refuge to permanently injured wildlife. At this park, visitors can say hello to the resident animals as they wander the paved path and trails. Resident friends include two bald eagles, a fox, owls, a friendly turkey, and many more. It was born from the mission to help injured and orphaned wildlife and educate the public to become better stewards of our natural world. The park provides a permanent home for birds and mammals that cannot be released to their natural habitat due to permanent injury or imprinting on humans. They have been caring for wild birds and mammals since 1982. In those 40+ years, their goal has remained: to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife to return healthy animals to their natural environment. All the while educating visitors about the wild animals that share the local landscapes. The Howell Nature Center is fully licensed by the Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Its wildlife clinic annually sees over 4,000 wild birds, mammals, and other animals. It is the largest facility of its kind in the state of Michigan.Alexandria’s Naturescape and Tree House
Alexandria’s Naturescape is a children's play area designed to immerse children in the outdoors. Here, they can unplug and enjoy features like a waterfall, a kid-sized spider web, an enormous sandbox, and more. Reservations are required for the two 500-foot zip lines, high ropes adventure course, and Michigan’s tallest outdoor climbing tower.Events
The Howell Nature Center offers open-to-the-public events throughout the year, such as the community zipline day, Turtle Paddle, Fathers' Day in Nature, and more.The center also offers cabin rentals and event spaces for group gatherings. Choose from multiple indoor and outdoor spaces such as Pineview Lodge, Lakeview Lodge, or outdoor canopies throughout the park. Whether you are planning a corporate retreat or need a unique space to gather for a meeting in Howell, they have space for you. Plus, they offer overnight accommodations and various team-building activities to keep you unplugged.
