The Kensington Metropark Art Fair returns to Maple Beach at Kensington Metropark for Memorial Day Weekend, featuring three days of juried art in a scenic lakeside setting. This well-regarded art fair brings together 100 juried artists, offering a wide range of artwork, including paintings, photography, sculpture, wearable art, and functional pieces. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on art projects and a variety of food trucks and specialty foods throughout the weekend.
The fair will take place from May 23 to May 25, 2026, with hours on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Set along the shoreline of Kent Lake, this six-hour event offers a picturesque backdrop that showcases the natural beauty of one of Southeast Michigan’s most popular parks.
Attendees can explore an impressive collection of juried artwork by artists from 22 states, featuring a wide range of styles and media. Food trucks will offer a variety of options, and hands-on art activities presented by the Detroit Institute of Arts provide an engaging experience for visitors of all ages.
Beyond the art fair, Kensington Metropark offers a full day of recreation and natural beauty. The park features miles of paved and natural hiking and biking trails, expansive picnic areas, playgrounds, and opportunities for boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing around Kent Lake. Its popular Maple Beach area, where the art fair is held, provides convenient access to swimming, shoreline views, and family activities, making it easy to spend the entire day enjoying everything the park has to offer.
