Winter is upon us and Mt. Brighton is ready to be your hub for epic adventures! We spoke to Heidi Swartzloff, Marketing Manager at Mt. Brighton, about what you need to know before you hit the slopes!
What is your favorite part about being an attraction in the Brighton-Howell Area?
The Brighton-Howell Area is one that loves to try new things, go outdoors, and embrace the elements. This is why giving community members a chance to ski and snowboard locally is our favorite part of being an attraction in the area. This is a community that’s focused on family and we are proud to offer an activity that all ages can enjoy year after year.
What is the most recognizable thing about Mt. Brighton?
Besides being one of the highest elevation points in Livingston County at 1,330 ft., one of the most recognizable parts of Mt. Brighton is the snow-making capabilities that the resort possesses. During the winter months, even when the surrounding community doesn’t have snow on the ground, Mt. Brighton is able to make snow and have white peaks all winter long!
Why is Mt. Brighton an important player in our community?

Mt. Brighton is an important part of the community because we provide a unique winter sport activity for all. Winter can be a tough time to get outside and enjoy the outdoors, however, Mt. Brighton shines by embracing the winter weather conditions! We give people a reason to want to get outside and have some winter fun. In addition to our daily winter activities, we also offer a unique and beautiful location for weddings, events, business meetings, team-building activities, school field trips, and more!
What is something a first-time visitor to Mt. Brighton should know?
The best way to enjoy the sport for a first-timer is to take a lesson from our world-class ski and snowboard school instructors. Our certified and experienced instructors do all they can to make the experience enjoyable for all age groups and experience levels. Another important note that first-timers should know is how to properly prepare and dress for the occasion.
Our newcomer webpage has all the information someone would need and frequently asked questions. In addition, we offer equipment rentals at Mt. Brighton including skis, snowboards, boots, poles (for skiing), and helmets, so we have everything you need to enjoy the slopes!
Why should someone visit Mt. Brighton?
For the experience of a lifetime! Mt. Brighton provides a wonderful outlet for individuals, families, and friends of all ages and levels of experience to make the most of the snowy months. Let us “Brighton” Your Winter!
