About the PDGA World Championships

The PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships are the premier championship event in professional disc golf. Since beginning in 1982, the tournament has grown into an international competition featuring the world’s top players and attracting fans from across the globe.

Michigan has a proud connection to the sport, previously hosting a PDGA World Championship in 2008 and continuing to build its reputation as one of the country’s top disc golf destinations.

Disc Golf: What to Know Before You Go

The 2026 Professional Disc Golf World Championships will take place at Kensington Metropark, one of Michigan’s most scenic outdoor destinations.

Located less than an hour from downtown Detroit and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Kensington Metropark provides convenient access for both local spectators and visitors traveling from across the country.

The championship will feature competition on two championship-level courses:

Toboggan Course: The iconic Toboggan course is one of Michigan’s most celebrated disc golf layouts, known for challenging terrain, elevation changes, and demanding championship-level play.

Black Locust Course: The expanded Black Locust course near Martindale Beach will provide another premier championship setting surrounded by Kensington Metropark’s natural beauty.
