Enjoy the great outdoors at Independence Lake County Park in the southern portion of the Brighton Howell Area. This park has plenty of space to play, splash, relax, and learn!

You can find activities all year round in snow and sunshine. Many people visit the diverse, beautiful natural areas surrounding serene Independence Lake throughout the year. The park also features a playground, picnic shelter, paved and unpaved trails, and a beach!

The boat launch is available for easy drop-off of your boat, paddleboard, or kayak. The park also offers canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and boats with ten or fewer horsepower. In the winter, when the lake freezes, this is where you can access the lake for ice fishing.

Other features of Independence Lake County Park include the 36-hole Red Hawk Disc Golf Course, open play fields, observation platforms, multiple bike racks, and a concession stand.

Blue Heron Bay

Blue Heron Bay is a splash park located on the lake’s beachside. This family-friendly location is the destination for a fun day in the sun. The splash area has a splash and spray pad with towering fountains. The water features don’t stop at the splash pad but include multiple water slides and water-friendly play structures. Amenities at the Blue Heron Bay include ample seating areas to watch over loved ones, a locker room, a picnic shelter, and a concession stand.
