Whitmore Lake
Whitmore Lake is a charming community that defines lake living at its finest. Just on the outskirts of Ann Arbor lies this village with a 750-acre lake at the epicenter. And epic fittingly describes the array of activities water lovers can enjoy year-round; including swimming, boating, water skiing, ice fishing, ice skating, hockey and more. With spectacular lakeside views, local favorites such as the Whitmore Lake Tavern, Captain Joe’s and Dee’s Place offer options for when you’re ready for a cold one, a filling meal or an ice cream treat.
Winter brings the Michigan Pond Hockey Classic to town for a tournament that’s a throwback to the way hockey was born to be played. Warmer weather welcomes the Whitmore Lake Farmers’ Market, May through September. And perhaps the crown jewel of summertime events, 4th of July on Whitmore Lake shows the community’s true spirit with a glorious fireworks extravaganza over the lake, boat parade, a waterski show, a 5K and 10K fun run and a traditional hometown Independence Day parade.
