Hell

For a trip unlike any other, visitors are extended a warm welcome to make Hell, Michigan their final destination while in the area (handbasket optional). This tiny hamlet is a must-see not just for the novelty but for the true beauty of the scenery and the neighborly hospitality of the residents.

Tucked away in one of the most picturesque corners of the region, Hell rolls out the red carpet for thrill seekers and sight seers. Surrounded by Pinckney Recreation Area and its 11,000 acres of state parkland ready to be explored. Rent a canoe or kayak and drift your way through the chain of lakes. And if your golf game is on fire, you’ll want to play a round of mini golf while in town. Send a postcard from the official Hell post office, complete with burn and singe marks to prove you survived the trip.

Throughout the year, many events draw guests through the gates of Hell, including the Blessing of the Rides in May, Hell-O Summer Fest in June, floating fall color tours September through October. Hell’s HearseFest is also a popular draw for a car show of a different sort, and Hell-O Helloween Weekends in October invite family and friends to enjoy activities and demonstrations for the season.
