Home to a full-service riding stable and an equine experience suited for all riding levels. Brighton Recreation offers 19 miles of trails, a riding stable, rustic camping and a staging area.

Bring your horse to ride along 19 miles of marked equestrian trails. Pass through wooded, hilly terrain, open fields and scenic views of the Huron River and Kent Lake as you observe wildlife and waterfowl along the path.

Pinckney Recreation Area has 13 miles of maintained trails that also connect to the Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park, with an additional 22 miles of riding. The staging area to access the trails is located on Monks Rd and has a loading ramp, picnic shelter, vault toilet, hitching posts and water available. DNR has partnered with the Pinckney Trail Riders, a volunteer group that assists with maintenance of the horse trails.

Lessons take place every Saturday beginning in May and continue through November. Class levels are decided by the students riding ability. Overnight and day camp horsemanship opportunities for those interested between the ages of nine through seventeen.

Brighton Equestrian Club is pleased to offer something for everyone, ages 3-103. Their climate controlled facility, located on 98 acres is open year round. Horseback riding and driving lessons are available for first-timers through advanced riders and drivers looking to hone their skills. They also offer birthday parties, horse yoga, social groups, and equine therapy.
