April 5, 2025

Once the snow melts away and the warmer temperatures debut, it’s time to get out of the house and explore. However, you don’t have to break the bank on your springtime getaway to enjoy the wonders of the Brighton Howell Area! Here are a few free ways to explore the Brighton Howell Area this spring.

Go for a Hike

There are 123 trails within the Brighton Howell Area. Each offers optimal views, various difficulty levels, and the perfect opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Although vehicle passes are required to gain entry into the Recreation Areas, there are a variety of other parks that allow you to walk the trails for free.

Go Birding

📍: Kensington Metropark

Kensington Metropark is a birding hot spot as many species migrate to the area during the warmer months. This Metropark is one of the best places to hand-fee birds in southeast Michigan. While you wander the scenic trails of the Metropark, you’ll be surrounded by many varieties of birds waiting to fly right into your hand – with the correct food of course.

Attend an Event

Throughout the spring season, the Brighton Howell event calendar is loaded with fun-filled activities just waiting for you to experience them. For art lovers, you’ll be happy to find art fairs and festivals throughout the area, like the Kensington Art Fair and Picnkney’s Art in the Park. One of the final spring events – the Hamburg Family Fun Fest, is the ultimate way to wrap up the season.
