Lutz County Park
📍: Howell
Lutz County Park is a true hidden gem located in the northern part of the Brighton Howell Area. Covering over 100 acres, this park is the perfect place to reconnect and recharge from the hustle and bustle of life. While in the park, check out the 1.3-mile trail system, ideal for those looking for a quick hike. Additionally, the park is located just off a game preserve, home to a wide range of wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for some animals!
The park is also on its way to becoming the state’s newest Dark Sky Park, meaning it’s the ultimate place to experience beautiful starry nights.
Maltby Vista Trail
📍: Huron Meadows Metropark
Nestled in the Huron Meadows Metropark lies the Maltby Vista Trail. This 1.7-mile loop is considered an easy route that runs the entire length of Maltby Lake. The Trail offer superb scenic views throughout your journey. The park is conveniently located just a few short minutes off US-23 and downtown Brighton.
Deerfield Hills Nature Area
📍: Fenton
Deerfield Hills Nature Area covers 365 acres of the northern part of the Brighton Howell Area. This off-the-beaten-path nature area offers trails that wind throughout the wooded area and lead to Howe Lake. There is also a handicapped accessible dock area that overlooks the picturesque lake. Due to its rural location, the area is home to many forms of wildlife that you can experience.
Fillmore County Park
📍: Brighton

One of the smaller parks in the area, Fillmore County Park, is the perfect place for those looking for a natural 5K trail. The trails are naturally surfaced and feature natural topography. They winds through the woodland area, offering a unique scenic experience. The grounds offer onsite parking, benches, restrooms, and a full 3.1-mile trail.
