Deerfield Hills Nature Area

Nested in the woods of northern Livingston County, the scenic Deerfield Hills Nature Area is 365 acres and offers nature trails and a handicapped-accessible dock area on Howe Lake. The longest trail is a 3.8-mile loop, generally considered an easy route that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete.
Oaken Transformations Sculpture & Poetry Walk

This spring, take a scenic, relaxing walk through the Oaken Transformations Sculpture & Poetry Walk! This free outdoor art tour showcases work by talented poets and artists with ties to Michigan. The tour presents a unique space for readying poetry while offering a serene setting for sculptural work. It is part nature walk, meditative footpath, and art installation.
Kensington Metropark Nature Center
In Kensington Metropark lies the hidden gem of the Kensington Nature Center. This unique spot offers exhibits that share insight into the park’s wildlife. Park interpreters are also available to answer any questions you might have! While you’re here, you’ll see all sorts of animals, like cows, goats, ducks, snakes, and even Ranger, the red-tailed hawk.
