Hop aboard the Michigan Flyer to travel for your next vacation! Whether you’re traveling to visit family and friends, explore exciting attractions, or experience award-winning downtown, the Michigan Flyer provides reliable transportation to and from DTW (Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport). Before securing your seat, here are the essential details you should be aware of:
How often does the Michigan Flyer run?
The Michigan Flyer makes the roundtrip journey from DTW to Brighton 14 times every day, with limited routes on holidays. Some routes have no stops and some stop in Ann Arbor. For a complete schedule with times and stops, click here.
How can I buy tickets?
Securing tickets to ride the Michigan Flyer is easy! Tickets can be purchased online here, by phone at 517-333-0400, or by paying cash to the driver when boarding.
A bonus of Michigan Flyer offering a ride from Brighton to DTW is service from Brighton to Ann Arbor and East Lansing.
Where can I get on the Michigan Flyer?
Travelers can access the Michigan Flyer in Brighton at the Meijer store, located at 8650 West Grand River Avenue. Pickups and drop-offs take place at the south side of the parking lot, near Cross Street.
For those departing or arriving at DTW, passengers can board the bus at the North Terminal Ground Transportation Center. At the North Terminal, follow the “Municipal Transportation” signs to Ground Transportation and locate a small “AirRide route 787” sign near stall one.
In the McNamara Terminal, follow the “Municipal Transportation” and “Ticketing/Check-In” signs to Departures (Level 3). Look for the Michigan Flyer outside and to the left of the doors designated for Air France check-in.
Passengers requiring assistance in transitioning between the bus and the terminal, or vice versa, should inform Michigan Flyer in advance. This can be done while making reservations online by utilizing the Special Needs box on the Passenger Information webpage to specify the type of assistance needed.
Does it cost to park my car?
The parking fee is $2.50 per day, and it must be paid online in advance before your departure from Meijer in Brighton. You can acquire a parking pass here. Michigan Flyer and Meijer request that you place the parking voucher on your dashboard, ensuring the barcode is visible.
Do I need to pay for my luggage?
Michigan Flyer allows two checked bags, plus a purse or backpack, free of charge. Please note, to avoid extra charges for oversized or overweight baggage, each checked bag must weigh no more than 50 pounds (23 kg) and not exceed 62 inches (157 cm) in total length, width, and height.
What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?
If you miss your scheduled coach due to a flight delay at the airport, you are welcome to take the next available coach at no additional cost. However, passengers traveling to the airport who do not show for their scheduled departure must purchase a new ticket. Please give yourself ample time to get to Brighton to board the Michigan Flyer.
For any other questions, please visit the FAQ and Policies page on the Michigan Flyer website. Safe travels!
