Chenango Lake Retreat is a multifaceted nature area, kids camp, and retreat center on the outskirts of Howell. The large 164-acre property is located on the serene Lake Chenango. You will approach a gorgeous view of the lake and the main lodge as you drive down the pathway to the retreat center off Richardson Road.

The grounds include a beach right near the main cabin with a view of Brighton Recreation Area, the only other place on the lake. There are basketball nets, a Gaga ball pit, a state-approved 5k trail, an adventure course, low ropes, tire swings, and climbing walls.

If you are looking for a scenic location for your wedding, family vacation, or corporate get-together, Chenango Lake Retreat has you covered. The grounds are available to rent for single days or weekends for any event you want to host. The grounds have accommodated groups as large as 1,000 for outdoor events. The main lodge can host events for up to 150 people comfortably, with additional lodges around the property for breakout groups or bride and groom suites.

Camp Talahi is the name of the kids’ camp open to the public that takes place each week on the grounds during the summer months. There are two cabins with a “military bunk” style set up for the campers to enjoy that sleep up to 120 people.
