Livingston county is a great, neigh, the greatest area to bond with horses. The county holds 50,000 + acres of park land, and three state parks surrounded by countless bodies of water. Our four-legged friends have plenty of room to horse around to their heart’s content.
Here are some locations that provide trails for you and your mane squeeze to explore:
First time riders are welcome. The scenic views of our trails will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. There are several sites where lessons are available.
Check out these locations for lessons:
Wildwood Ranch: Lessons take place every Saturday beginning in May and continue through November. Class levels are decided by the students’ riding ability. Overnight and day camp horsemanship opportunities for those interested between the ages of nine through seventeen.
Heavenly Horse Stables: The Horse Hotel provides a secure place for overnight stays for the camper’s equine partners, and partnerships with professionals providing classes, seminars, and clinics.
Brighton Equestrian Club: Brighton Equestrian Club is pleased to offer something for everyone, ages 3-103. Their climate controlled facility, located on 98 acres is open year round. Horseback riding and driving lessons are available for first-timers through advanced riders and drivers looking to hone their skills. They also offer birthday parties, horse yoga, social groups, and equine therapy.
Those who are visiting our area with horse companions, are able to utilize stables for overnight stays at these locations:
